What is the Microphone Test?
The Microphone Test is a free online tool that lets you quickly check whether your computer or mobile microphone is working properly. Before joining a video call, online class, voice recording session, or game voice chat, you can verify your mic status right from your browser.
No software installation is required. The real-time volume bar shows your mic input level visually, and the built-in record-and-playback feature lets you hear exactly how your voice sounds through the microphone.
How It Works
Mic test requests microphone access via navigator.mediaDevices.getUserMedia() and captures the audio stream. Web Audio API's AnalyserNode analyzes real-time frequency and volume data for visualization. The volume meter displays the average of frequency data obtained from getByteFrequencyData().
