What is URL Encoder/Decoder?

URL encoding (also known as percent-encoding) is a method for converting special characters in URLs into a safe format using %XX hexadecimal codes. Since URLs can only contain a limited set of ASCII characters, spaces, non-English characters, and symbols with reserved meanings must be encoded before they can be included in a URL. For example, a space becomes %20, an ampersand (&) becomes %26, and the Korean character '가' becomes %EA%B0%80. Whether you are passing data through query parameters, submitting forms, or calling REST APIs, URL encoding is an essential skill in web development.

Common Pitfall

When using URL Encoder, the easiest thing to overlook is encoding and whitespace. Inputs that look identical can produce different outputs if a newline or invisible BOM character sneaks in.
