What is Speech to Text?
Speech to Text (STT) is a technology that converts spoken words into written text in real time. This tool uses the Web Speech API built into your browser, so there is nothing to install. It is especially useful for meeting notes, interview transcription, dictation, and quick memos whenever typing on a keyboard is inconvenient.
How It Works
Speech recognition uses the Web Speech API's SpeechRecognition interface. Audio captured from the microphone is processed by the browser's speech engine (or cloud service). Audio signals are analyzed at the phoneme level, and language models convert them to the most likely text. Continuous and single-utterance modes are supported.
