What is EXIF Metadata?

EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is metadata embedded in digital photos. When you take a picture with a camera or smartphone, information like GPS location, date, and camera settings is automatically saved inside the image file.

This tool lets you view and safely remove EXIF data from JPG/JPEG images. All processing happens in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded to any external server.

How It Works

The EXIF remover strips metadata segments from JPEG files. JPEG files contain metadata segments like APP1 (EXIF) and APP2 (ICC profile) after the SOI marker. This tool draws the image on a Canvas and re-encodes via toBlob(), stripping EXIF data including GPS location, camera info, and capture timestamps.
