About PDF Watermark
About a PDF Watermark
A PDF watermark is a semi-transparent text overlay placed on every page of a document. It is commonly used to indicate ownership, mark documents as drafts or confidential, or discourage unauthorized copying. This tool lets you add customizable text watermarks directly in your browser without installing any software. You can adjust the position, size, rotation angle, opacity, and color to match your exact needs.

Common Questions
Q: Does adding a watermark modify the original file?
No. The original file stays untouched. A new PDF with the watermark is created separately for download.
Q: Can the watermark be removed later?
Watermarks added by this tool are drawn directly onto the PDF content, so they cannot be easily removed with standard tools. Keep a copy of the original file.
Q: Is the same watermark applied to every page?
Yes, the current version applies identical watermark settings to all pages in the document.
Q: Can I add an image watermark?
Currently only text watermarks are supported. For logo or image watermarks, use a dedicated tool.
Q: What opacity level works best?
Typically 20% to 40% provides a good balance. Too low and the content beneath becomes hard to read. Too high and the watermark may be barely visible.
Q: Are files uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens in your browser. Files are never transmitted to any external server, making it safe for confidential documents.
Q: Can I position the watermark freely?
You can choose from 9 positions (combinations of top/middle/bottom and left/center/right). Precise coordinate input is not available.
Q: Is there a file size limit?
Since there is no server upload, there is no strict limit. Very large files may process more slowly depending on your browser memory.
Q: Can I use non-English text?
The built-in font is Helvetica, which supports standard Latin characters. Non-Latin text may display differently across PDF viewers.
Q: Does it work on mobile devices?
Yes, it works in mobile browsers. All controls including sliders and position selection are fully functional on touch screens.
